...Must come to an end

As the final day draws to a close, there was a graduation ceremony for all those leaving. There were special awards for those winners from GlosCol Olympics, as well as the best student in each class.

All that leaves is to say goodbye to all our students, wish them luck, and hope to see them all back here next year.

Congratulations Summer School Class of 2012, you did it!!

All good things...

With the Junior Summer School coming to an end today, here is a whole groups shot of most of our students.

It will be sad to see everyone leave, but we wish them the best of luck in whatever they are going on to, and hope to see them at Gloucestershire College again at some point in the future!

Variety is the spice of life...

A few weeks ago our Cheltenham students put on a variety show. After weeks of cutting, chopping and editing, here is the finished abridged version for you to enjoy...

GlosCol Olympic Games...

In honor of the London 2012 Olympics, yesterday afternoon our students in Cheltenham took part in their own version of the games.

The sports on offer were of the same high calibre as the real olympics, featuring events such as Wii bowling, Xbox Kinect dance competitions & giant Jenga! There were some more traditional offerings for those who so wished, including table tennis, badminton, basketball and football.

Students got to pick whichever activity they wished, so everyone was happy and everyone got into the spirit of the competition. A great warm-up for the olympics next week.

Junior Summer School Blog competition...

At the end of their third week in Gloucester students were given a challenge to take photographs that reflected some of their experiences on the summer school. We had lots of great photos but the winner was from Jane’s acrobatic group. Have a look and see below!!!

London calling...

Here are a few snaps from when our Weihai group visited London last weekend. They saw all the major sights, as well as a few less well know ones, such as the Sherlock Holmes museum on Baker Street!

The weather was kind to them and everyone had a wonderful time.

Stratford & Shakespeare...

This weeks trip was to Stratford-Upon-Avon. The town is a popular tourist destination owing to its status as birthplace of the playwright and poet William Shakespeare, receiving about three million visitors a year from all over the world. The Royal Shakespeare Company resides in Stratford's Royal Shakespeare Theatre, one of Britain's most important cultural venues.

Take a look and see some of the places our students went off to visit...

What a crazy day...

Our Gloucester campus was all go this afternoon with a Crazy Sports Day being held. Everything from an egg and spoon race, to quite literally jumping through hoops! There were so many stations to complete, everyone was left exhausted by the end.

Teams competed for the top spot, but everyone was a winner really. As always it is the taking part that really matters and every single person did brilliantly!!

Glorious Gloucester...

Some of our Spanish students went on a trip to see the sights of Gloucester. The sun even came out for them, possibly the first time since they have been here!!

They visited Gloucester Cathedral, one of the settings for the Harry Potter movies, and some of the woderful viewpoints around the city.

A little history...

This week our students went on a trip to the historic Warwick Castle. First built in 914 this castle is over 11 centuries old, and has survived civil wars, fires, the Black Death, and is now enjoyed by members of the public soaking up its eclectic history. Our students rather enjoyed it too.

Creativity & Compliments...

During their activity time this afternoon our Cheltenham based students had the option to do t-shirt painting, bag decorating and mask making.

Some of the masks that were created were incredibly intricate and beautifully designed, everything from the joker from Batman to Hello Kitty, there was no end to the creativity.
The bags and t-shirts were equally as impressive with "I Y Cheltenham" being a popular design choice, fantastic compliment, thanks guys!!
